Łotwa

Postprzez Godo » 11 listopada 2011, 23:07

I have a lot pictures from Latvia, so I decided to open a topic about streetlightning in Latvia. It is sad, but as I know, latvians don't have any active forums about streetlightning, except not very active and old disscusion "Kad laternas šūpojas nakti" ("When the lanterns are swinging at night"): http://forum.myriga.info/index.php?showtopic=446&st=60
Many types of lamps in Latvia are the same as in Lithuania, but there are some difernces as well, latvians have more types of russian lanterns, less polish and etc.
I'll begin from Riga, pictures in Riga were taken at march 2011.
Some old RTU-02-250 at Rainis park. Poles are old - from 50's, lanterns from 70's

With non-original bowls:

At night: One is with sodium lamp, other with mercury (LRF) :)

And RTU-02-125, in Lithuania we don't have this type of RTU :(
Obrazek

Today, the most popular new lanterns in Riga, as in all Latvia - Phillips "Malaga"

And Thorn "Medio", we hawe a lot of them in Vilnius:

Those NKU-01 with compact fluorescent are strange. Really are ;). I have never seen anything similar in Poland.
And the Marses have something in common with Polish OUS400 Kwadratówka.

Oh, RTU-02 is my favorite type of mooshroom lanterns, I have few in my colection :)

Yes, they are similar - as I say, the same time, the same fashion :) There are more similar like yours "Kwadratowka" types of lanterns from theese times.

Thanks for info ;) I'll try to make biger posts, but I think, that posts with 5-7 photos are easier to write and more comfortabile to read :)

It is primitive russian lanterns for villages. In lithuania we have lots of them, I have aready showed them in lithuanian topic :)
One more better condition NKU-01 in Riebini:
Obrazek

Lots of remade old east german Narva LBL 5211-0214-98. Instead of LRF 400 W, E40 bases in whole Barkava village are changed to E27 with LRF 125

The same self remade lantern with incandescent in the schoolyard:

Bigger (400W) and smaller (250W) versions of LBL on one pole:

Some of them are similar to "Frying pan" but I like it :P

Let me display some photos from it. Clasic lanterns are still alive.

What a big surprise! Petroleum lamp  :!: :o Does it shine ? Electrically of course  ;)

I also like old open type lanterns ;)

More pics from Latvia:
The most interesting lantern in Latvia for me - german VEB Narva LBL 5211-1996-16 they are really gigantic (1,67 x 0,58 x 0,34 m, 21 kg (info: http://www.ddr-strassenleuchten.de/l...mpig/index.htm). In Lithuania I haven't seen that type of double Narva LBL.

The case of theese LBL is made of glass texture? (don't know, how to call that material in english)

This material is known as "laminat" in Polish or "composite" or "glass reinforced polyester" in English. Polish ORZ-2 has been made of this composite. Glass composite can pass some light through, so in Polish the ORZ-2 are called "papierzaki" (it means "made from paper"). When the LRF lamp is in good condition, one can see light coming from upper part of the fixtures. The Narva's fixtures are also made from this material, but they have better reflector.
